The new health centre wants to strengthen the image of an institutional building, in an area very much in need for hierarchy and urban structure.
Badies is an example of an extensive urban planning from the 70s with little urban qualities. During the last decade it has undergone a population boost, thus needing an extension and refurbishment of its existing health centre. The brief included works on the existing building as well as an extension with new rooms for pediatrics, extraction and administrative staff in order to improve the service provided. The site’s urban structure is formed by an endless maze of streets and buildings. In this context, the new health centre wants to strengthen the image of an institutional building, in an area very much in need for hierarchy and urban structure.
